On June 29, at 10 am, the IBGE will release the publication 4th Workshop on the Brazilian Relief Classification System - SBCR, which shows the discussions and deliberations taken place in the 4th Workshop on the Brazilian Relief Classification, held in Natal, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in August 2025, and which gathered researchers with expertise in geomophological mapping of all the Brazilian Major Regions. The publication of these minutes continues the registration and dissemination to society of the works and the evolution of the bases and criteria of the SBCR. Since the creation of the Brazilian Relief Classification System, in 2019, the IBGE, the Brazilian Geological Service (SGB) and the Brazilian Geomorphology Union (UGB), as well as scholars from different Brazilian universities have been jointly working in the construction of a single taxonomic system, which reflects the organization of the diversity of the forms of relief existing in Brazil, categorically, hierarchically and multiscaling.

The text should be read by those interested in relief studies and mapping in Brazil and it is a key subsidy for the development (improvement and updating) of the Brazilian Relief Classification System.
