On August 6, at 10 am, the IBGE will release a publication presenting the road map and discussions that took place during the 3rd Technical Expedition of the Brazilian System of Relief Classification (SBCR), called "Borborema´s Mountains and Plateaus, Sertanejo Surface and Paraíba´s Inselbergs", occurred in October 2024 in the scope of the XX Brazilian Symposium of Applied Physical Geography and of the IV Portuguese-African-American Meeting of Physical Geography and Environment, carried out in João Pessoa (PB). Richly illustrated, this work is a valuable reading for geoscientists, teachers and students interested in the studies on relief, especially in the region between the cities of Campina Grande and Patos.

The expedition marks the third trip gathering experts, scholars and those interested in relief in Brazil, aiming at its taxonomy and implications of its establishement. Discussions based on observations and assessments of the relief in the breakpoints are potential contributions to the enhancement and evolution of the SBCR. The registration of these field dynamics in a publication is a unique opportunity to preserve an important part of the history of the Brazilian geomorphology that has been written in recent years with the creation of the SBCR.
