The Coordination of Cartography plans to use ALOS/PRISM images to generate a reference base comprising images with geometric quality matching the accuracy expected for the products of the National Cartographic System. On top of this, the IBGE became the distributor of images of the ALOS satellite for non-commercial users in Brazil. It evidenced the need to carefully assess – albeit punctual – the planimetric quality of the products derived from this satellite´s images. This report presents the assessments of the ALOS/PRISM images completed until now, i.e.: planimetric assessment of a scene with processing level 1B2G; planimetric assessment of a Nadir scene with processing level 1B2R orthorectified by the IBGE with supporting points established in the field and Digital Elevation Model - MDE of the SRTM mission; planialtimetric assessment of the MDE generated from stereoscopic pairs of the 1B2R ALOS/PRISM.
