As part of the initiatives to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Presidency of the Institute hosts, on May 7, the event “Ombudsman in Action for the 90th anniversary of the IBGE," which will gather specialists to discuss the role of ombdusmanship in the promotion of integrity, democracy and human rights in public service. The meeting starts at 8:30 at Casa Brasil IBGE, downtown Rio de Janeiro. It will be streamed live on Digital IBGE.
The initiative suggests a reflection about contemporary teams that are of interest to public administration, foe example, harassment, mental health and the behavior of civil servants during the electoral period, wih a highlight to the work of ombdusmanships as fundamental instruments of listening, mediation and strengthening of institutions. The scheduled activities include lectures and debates with renowned guests in the field of public integrity and citizenship.
