The Ministry of Social Security (MPS) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) promote, on Wesdnesday, October 9, in Brasília (DF) a seminar entitled “A new governance model for the statistical, geoscientific and data production in Brazil.” The event will be the first dialogue between the institutions for the sharing and management of data within the scope of the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED), and will be held at 10 am, at the ground floor auditorium of the Ministry of Social Security, at Esplanada dos Ministérios (Ministries Esplanade), in the federal capital, streamed live on Digital IBGE.
The participants to the meeting are the minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi and the president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Alessandro Stefanutto, besides the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, and the director of information Technology, Marcos Mazoni.
"The IBGE is an important partner of Social Security. Together with the INSS, we will develop important analyses of information in order to improve our services and prevent fraud. National sovereignty and the future of public social security are related to the strategic management of data," said the minister.
“The agreement between the IBGE and the Ministry of Social Security with the National Institute of Social Security inaugurates a cooperativ form of work on data integration. the agreement reinforces the role of the IBGE in the production of information used to update and improve public policies in the country," said Marcio Pochmann, president of the IBGE.
At the end of the event, a Technical Cooperation Agreement will be signed between the IBGE and the INSS.
