Next Friday, May 3, at 10 AM, the IBGE will broadcast live the release of the results of the 2022 Census: Quilombola and Indigenous People, by sex and age, according to specific geographies: Population Results. The event will be at the Campinho da Independência Quilombola Community (BR-101 km 588 - Restaurante do Quilombo), far 13 km from the Paraty Heritage Center, a municipality far 250 km from the capital Rio de Janeiro. The event will be broadcast on Digital IBGE and reproduced in the IBGE´s social media. Broadcast will be also available on the IBGE´s official channels in the social media YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
Elizabeth Hypólito, Director of Surveys, Ivone Lopes Batista, Director of Geosciences, and José Francisco Teixeira Carvalho, IBGE State Superintendent in Rio de Janeiro, will be present. The presentation of the results will be carried out by Marta Antunes, Census Coordinator of Traditional Communities and Peoples, and Fernando Damasco, Manager of Traditional Territories.
The “2022 Population Census: Quilombola and Indigenous People, by sex and age, according to specific geographies: Population results” will bring information related to the age structure and sex profile of the quilombola and indigenous populations, key data to deepen the knowledge about these two traditional groups, as well as to guide a number of public policies, like education, health and social assistance.
The data will be available for Brazil, Major Regions, States, Municipalities, Legal Amazon, Legal Amazon by Federation Unit, officially delimited Quilombola Territory, officially delimited Quilombola Territory by Federation Unit, Indigenous Land and Indigenous Land by Federation Unit. The results can be viewed on the IBGE Portal and in platforms like SIDRA, Census Overview and Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI).
