National Conference of Data Producers and Users in Bahia stands out in the 4th edition of magazine Casa Brasil IBGE

The fourth edition of the magazine Casa Brasil IBGE features the National Conference of Data Producers and Users (CONFEST/CONFEGE) in Bahia, which appears on the cover of the publication, symbolizing the diversity and cultural richness that the IBGE seeks to portray in its studies and publications.
The publication aims to bring the public closer to the IBGE´s actions, surveys and initiatives, bringing relevant themes that dialog with the Brazilian contemporary challenges. With accessible language and diverse content, the magazine promotes understanding of the strategic role of statistical and geographic information in the development of public policies, territorial planning and national development.
The National Conference of Data Producers and Users (CONFEST/CONFEGE), which will be held from December 3 to 5, 2025, in Salvador.
This will be the first time that the event takes place outside Rio de Janeiro, marking a historic turning point in the trajectory of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
On the eve of turning 90, the IBGE reaffirms its role as the main official information body in Brazil and one of the most respected in the world, by bringing together data producers and users to discuss the direction of public information in the Digital Era. One of the main milestones of the conference will be the resumption of the proposal for the General Statistical and Geographic Information Plan (PGIEG), provided for by law, but not presented to the country since 1974. Updating the plan is considered urgent given the contemporary challenges, which require integrated, reliable and predictive data.
