IBGE releases today, February 26, estimates for per capita nominal household earnings in 2014, for Brazil and its 27 Federation Units, according to data taken from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD). On this same date the released information is being sent to the Brazilian Court of Audit (TCU). These per capita household earnings estimates will be the basis for the Revenue Sharing Fund of the States and Federal District (FPE) as stated by Complementary Law no. 143 of July 2013.

Continuous PNAD is a household survey which, every quarter, presents socio-economic information about more than 200,000 housing units, located in more than 3,500 municipalities.

Household earnings refer to all earnings from work and from other sources received by each resident in the month of reference of the survey, including all member of the household. Per capita household earnings result from the ratio between total earnings and the overall number of residents, for Brazil and each Federation Unit, always considering figures extended by the annual weighting of the survey.
